FAQs
1Where is the ReStore located and what are the hours?
Store Location and Hours:
917 N. East Street, Frederick
Tuesday – Saturday: 9am – 4pm
2How does the ReStore benefit the Frederick community?
- The ReStore sells donated merchandise to the public and all profits from those sales support the work of Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, MD as we build and repair homes in our community.
- In addition to the funds raised for Habitat, some materials donated to the ReStore are diverted from the store to Habitat construction sites, where they can become part of someone’s new home.
- Construction materials fill more than 40% of landfill space across the country. The ReStore fights against this number by promoting recycling and conservation, diverting tons of usable materials away from local landfills. You can donate materials that are still usable to the ReStore and give them new life.
3What does the ReStore accept and sell?
The ReStore accepts new and gently used building materials, home goods, furnishings, cabinets, windows, doors and much more! For more information, visit our Donate page.
4Are donations tax-deductible?
Many donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for your donation to use for these purposes. Please consult your tax advisor as to the deductibility of your particular donation.
5Will the ReStore pick up my donations?
Yes! We pick up eligible donations from residences and businesses located in Frederick County. Please clearly mark donations for Habitat for Humanity and have them easily accessible outside, in a garage or on a porch so our staff and volunteers can easily load them onto the truck. We are no longer going into homes to pick up items.
If you would like to schedule a pickup of your donation, please contact the ReStore at 301-662-2988 x4 or send pictures of what you would like to donate along with your name, contact phone number and address to pickup@frederickhabitat.org.
