Habitat Planning Fifth Gulf Coast Rebuilding Trip |

Frederick---Volunteer coordinators from Habitat for Humanity of Frederick have begun planning a fifth trip to help rebuild Gulf Coast homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The October 27 - November 1 trip will be to the St. Bernard Parish, LA area. The specific work site will not be known until one week before arrival in the area. Previous trips have been to the Biloxi and Jackson, MS areas. |

Work to Begin on First Habitat Home in Middletown |
|
Frederick---Work will begin June 7 at 8 am on the first Habitat for Humanity home in Middletown. During the first two weeks, rehab work will include demolishing the interior of the existing structure at 213 South Jefferson Street and building a shed. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lori Taube at lorijt6@aol.com. Habitat of Frederick and the Middletown Ministerial Association are partnering on the building of two homes in Middletown during 2008. |

Playhouse Raffle Extended |

You still have time to purchase raffle tickets for the four playhouses built by members of the Women Build crew. The drawing will be June 2 and tickets are only $5 each or 4 tickets for $15. Proceeds will benefit the first Women Build home. You can purchase tickets at two places. Stop by Lowe's on Buckeystown Pike to see the playhouses and buy raffle tickets at the Customer Service Counter. Or you can buy tickets, and home improvement materials and furnishings, at Habitat's ReStore Home Improvement Center located at 1109 East Patrick Street, near the Fairgrounds. Hours are 9 am to 4 pm on Tuesday through Friday and 8 am to 4pm on Saturday. |

Blitz Effort to Build Home in Two Days |

Frederick---The Frederick Housing Trust and the Frederick County Builders Association will blitz build a home in 36 hours for Nathan Phillips and his daughter, Nakia, on this Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18, at 18 West 7th Street in Frederick. |
