6th Annual Bob Mulvey Memorial Golf Tournament

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County is holding their 6^th Annual Bob Mulvey Memorial Gulf Classic on September 8^th at Glade Valley Golf Club.

The Frederick Motor Company has agreed to sponsor the hole-in-one prize this year. The lucky winner will win a brand new 2010 Ford Mustang Coupe worth over $23,000. The company’s president, James Warfield, is happy to be supporting Habitat’s mission.

Three Habitat Events Scheduled for May 16-17

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County is planning three events for the weekend of May 16 and 17. On Saturday volunteers will refurbish a home on East A Street in Brunswick. On Sunday in Middletown there will be a house dedication at 213 South Jefferson St. and a workshop on gardening at Christ Reformed United Church of Christ on South Church Street.

Free Workshop on Controlling Expenses in Today's Economy

Habitat for Humanity’s Family Support Committee will offer the second of five free workshops to help individuals and families through the current, difficult economic times. Presenter will be Julie Hoover, a local specialist in financial education, who offers programs throughout the community through schools, churches, non-profit and other community organizations.

Our Sixth Trip to the Gulf Coast

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County is organizing its sixth trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Volunteers will leave Frederick on March 16 and return on March 21.

Trip organizer Chuck Hawley said the Frederick affiliate coordinates its trips with a partner affiliate, Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Gulf Coast, in its rebuilding effort there. The Frederick group will be working in a new Gulfport subdivision of 40 homes which the local affiliate expects to start in early March.
